Sign these petitions
We periodically create petitions that relate to shark conservation. They represent an easy way for us to lend our voices to an issue. Petitions are not always enough to affect change, but they can be very effective to let the target of the petition know that thousands of people are paying attention to them and care about the issue. We think that a few of our past petitions have had an impact, in concert with other organizations and individuals that also kept the pressure up. Please sign these petitions and add your comments:

The 'thank you' to Palau
Palau declared itself the world's first National Shark Sanctuary and called for an international ban on shark-finning. We created a thank you card and gathered over 1500 signatures. This 'card' is now closed to further signatures.

Petition: Remove shark nets in South Africa
Shark nets are gill nets installed in tiered patterns by KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board (KZNSB). The purpose is to reduce the shark populations and keep them away from people swimming at the beaches. However, there are better ways to protect swimmers that don't indiscriminately kill sharks and other marine life.

Petition to Palau: Stop Senate Bill 8-44 that opens up shark fishing
This petition is now closed. The Palau government has announced the creation of a Shark Sanctuary, and a ban on all commercial fishing.
