Sharks need a voice, and that’s where Shark Savers comes in. We represent sharks in response to issues and provide them with positive attention across print, television and the Internet.
We have developed advocacy programs, co-created Shark Angels, seeded local Shark Savers groups in communities around the world, participated in Asian-American Fairs and dive-related shows, delivered educational outreach materials, and developed materials and guidelines for creating local campaigns to reduce consumption of shark products. We have also enabled many news outlets to present strong shark conservation stories including CNN’s Anderson Cooper’s “Planet in Peril” series, Nightline, The Today Show, SEP TV, ABC Evening News, 60 Minutes, SABC, The Sunday Times, NPR, the BBC, the Miami Herald and others. This coming year, we will increase our focus on gaining media attention for sharks and their plight. We will be greatly expanding our local communities, increasing our reach through social media, become an epicenter for shark news and information, and develop powerful video content to motivate action, serving as our rallying cry.
“By leveraging global media and building awareness, we can change the future for sharks. Shark Savers is doing an excellent job at just that – bringing their passion and expertise together to serve as a much-needed voice of sharks.” |
