Congratulations! An excellent job! Please continue caring for the underwater world! Thank you! I have been several times in the Maldives between 1993 and 2007, and have clearly seen decreasing amounts of sharks ... Thank you for acting! Maldives will be on my holiday list again in the future! Thank you!

hello i am a freshmen in high school and we are doing a huge project where every student had to choose an ecology project that is a huge issue today. the topic i chose is peoples fear of sharks and its effects. the research that this topic had me doing led me to this site and i would just really like to thank you for sticking up for these beautiful keystone species. Your courage is much appreciated by the generation that will "own" this Earth in the near future :)

It amazes me the destruction of life that man expends without regard to the preservation of life other then their own self gratification. Thank you for passing this law for the preservation of these magnificent creatures and more.

The problems are too many to count. Sharks are just one of many forms of earthly life, who suffer needlessly, are terribly marginalized, and who cannot effectively combat the effects of humanity, on such a fragile planet.

Thank you so much for making the decision to stop shark fishing in the Maldives. I have visited the Maldives and in my eyes it is paradise and thanks to your decision i have faith that i will be able to visit again in the near future and see again why i fell in love with the place. As an underwater photographer there is no greater thrill than plunging into the waters and seeing a healthy eco-system thriving and thanks to you that has been secured for future generations. I only hope that you continue to push forward with plans to protect the oceans surrounding the Maldives as you have already made a huge impact for the better.

I dived with sharks for the first time last year in the Maldives which was a lifelong dream come true, thank you for making steps to protect this beautiful animal and allowing it to replenish itself, a rare thing in today’s oceans, hopefully other countries will follow and our children and there children will be able to experience the beauty of this truly majestic animal, thank you again.

Sharks are at the top of the ecosystem, and without them, the world would have to pay tens of billions of dollars to pay it off. Shark fishing kills hundreds of thousands of sharks, and we need to do something about it.

90% of all sharks have been killed by humans in the last decades. That is over 100 MILLION sharks per year! Without sharks (and other Ocean inhabitants) the oceans will die.

Please ensure that this exclusion zone is properly patrolled. I would happily pay an increased marine park fee when joining a liveaboard to finance this. Well done on your efforts so far in banning this brutal practice.

I am a strong believer that finning should be banned! sharks were here before us and not ours to kill. they are important to the eco system and if they go extinct then that would a lot of animals habitat. I’m 15 years old and when I grow up my dream is to work for sharks. when I get older and start a big system for people to join to help make this problem stop I will dedicate my life to help that! Since I was a little girl and watched the little mermaid all I wanted to do was be in the water.

Last February, we traveled to the Maldives with a group of 20 scuba diver friends because of the beautiful, healthy reefs and abundance of marine life in your waters. We spent 10 days cruising through the islands of your Country, aboard the live aboard dive boat Manthiri. We look forward to returning to dive the Maldives again. As long as you continue to ban shark fining, we will also continue to recommend other divers do so also. Thank you again.

First name is okay to make public. I am outraged that so many countries continue to kill these animals in such a torturous way. Shame on all who have anything to do with this.
