Sanaa Benjelloun |
Volunteer CoordinatorSanaa Benjelloun was born and raised in Casablanca , Morocco. Even though there are no sharks in Casablanca, Sanaa has been passionate about them since early childhood. It became her dream to become a shark behaviorist, but that somehow morphed into human psychology. After high school, Sanaa went to the university of Montpellier (South of France) and then to Pensacola Florida to obtain a degree in psychology. Sharks were never far from her mind and so she also studied marine biology in the hope of getting a degree in the field later on. After graduating from the University of West Florida, Sanaa lived in San Francisco and now New York where she worked for a financial bank. After watching Sharkwater and learning about the plight of sharks, she became increasingly more active with Shark Savers in order to help her favorite animals. Sanaa is working towards her certification in diving and longs to be in the water with sharks. She intends to pursue a graduate degree in environmental science to develop more tools to help save sharks. |
