Shark nets are gill nets installed by the KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board in South Africa to control shark populations in order to reduce the risk to the bathing population. There are better ways to protect bathers, and yet these nets indiscriminately kill hundreds of harmless sharks, turtles, dolphins, and fish each year. It's time to get the nets removed.
