Sara Alaica

Sara Alaica is Shark Savers' Program Communications Manager. She is a huge animal-lover and comes to Shark Savers after a decade of working for animal charities around the world. Sara has worked with the RSPCA in Canada to help dogs and cats, with the World Society for the Protection of Animals protecting bears in Vietnam, helping at a native bird sanctuary in New Zealand to help rescue and rehabilitate injured wildlife, and fought for better treatment of chickens, pigs and cows in factory farms in the US.

Sara is a PADI-certified diver, and first got her glimpse of the underwater world at Poor Knight’s Marine Reserve in New Zealand and has loved it ever since, diving throughout the Pacific with hopes to expand her experiences underwater. She is thrilled to be working for Shark Savers to help sharks, rays and other marine animals get the protection that they deserve.

Sara holds a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Carleton University.
