Media_Markt_stand_SSG.JPGShark Savers Germany is bringing awareness about the threats facing sharks with its newest collaboration with Berlin Neukölln’s Media Markt store. Media Markt is Europe’s largest electronics retailer, and second in the world only to Best Buy.

For four weeks, Shark Savers Germany is showcasing a 25 foot display in the front window of the store highlighting the importance of sharks, with TV screens showing footage of the more than 400 species of sharks and images of the threats that sharks face all around the world.

“It’s such a great opportunity to reach out to a wide variety of people,” says Manuel Wendt, Director of Shark Savers Germany, who organized the collaboration. “We want to thank the shop manager for caring about sharks and helping us to educate the customers about shark conservation.”

It’s easy for the public to take action, with Shark Savers’ flyer being distributed in the store, and the opportunity to join the mailing list while they are shopping. Shoppers can also win great prizes by answering questions about sharks. Even children can get involved with a coloring contest featuring Haiko the cartoon shark.

Shark Savers Germany’s campaign runs through August 17. To read more about our German office and for ways to get involved in Germany, visit www.sharksavers.org/de
