Please stop that cruel and senseless killing of the sharks, the wonderful creatures. The balance of sea, including their treasues and resources is protected by the sharks too. So we need them and we have to protect them. In contrast to that the meat of the sharks is not good for food. People who eat it, are even risking their health - killing sharks is so stupid!
5846. Not publicly disclosed, Gilserberg, Germany
Please do not murder sharks, the tigers of the sea any more. That kind of killing is so destructive and senseless, because the meat is not good for food.

Please stop killing sharks and rays, it makes no sense at all! We have to save the species living on this planet before it's too late. Maybe everybody on earth should learn how to dive so they will appreciate the beauty of our underwater world more and more! Same planet, different world!

My fear is that even if people get educated about the situation, are they gonna care? Do they really understand the importance sharks play in this world and what would happen if they disappeared forever? All of this for shark fins... How senseless can humans be!!!

I am a diver since long period. I like to see the sharks and others fishes in their natural state. I hate the sharks fishers who are interested only by their wing tips (fins). It's necessary to stop the shark fish. I'm a French diver. Sorry for my poor English language.

Lets pray for the one doing the killing aswell. They are the ones creating a habit of killing which is not going to turn out well for them either.
5808. Tatiana Morin, New York, New York, United States
Quite simply put, the food chain will collapse if the shark species dwindle. If this happens, the whole balance that keeps us alive, the ocean, will no longer be able to support the earth, and the food web will disintegrate. Besides being the hand of our own demise, the finning and careless killing of sharks via long line fishing and irresonsibility, is a sad testament to human kind's nature-it is inhumane, unforgiveable, sinful and an irresponsible, disrespectful act against the species that sustain our lives and our own respnsibility as an influencial species on this planet. Simply put, we are the least responsible and respectful species on the planet-because we take whatever we want without regard for other life and consequences. We crowned ourselves king, and act like a destroyer.
5807. Richard Friedl, La Forclaz, France

Sharks are a very important part of the Circle of Life! We need them to clean up our oceans of sick and unhealthy fish! I fear if we do not stop this stupid shark hunting for whatever reason, they will be the next animal on the endangered species list! I am so sick of seeing these macho fishing people catching sharks, sailfish, and everything else that is becoming sparse in our ocean.

The protection of top predators such as sharks are most crucial to the ecosystem ocean. Without sharks, we will face a sad and dramatic change in our world's ocean. I urge you to protect sharks, rays and other fauna from unsustained fisheries.

Mr
While i totally agree that that this is wrong our energies would be better spent on tackling the human population explosion. More people inevitably mean more exploitation and destruction. No one seems to question our 'divine right' to go forth and multiply. That is the issue which needs tackling for all our sakes

It seems there is no hope for Indonesia but good luck. As long as the govrenment insists that commercial fishing can co-exist in recreational and important marine areas, this will continue.
